Your ROAR!

Painting the Canvas of My Life

Painting the Canvas of My Life

See everyone, I have come to realize at a young age…. that I don’t want to wait until I am 40 to have some midlife crisis and then start living my life.  I am starting now because I am the author of this story :). When I told my mom on Wed that I was booking a ticket to Boston on Friday, she looked at me and was like, “This is really out of character for you.”  And I was like, “Who is to say what my character is and who says I can’t change it?”:D So, that is what I am doing… I am going out into the world as a blank canvas because I can 🙂  On this canvas, my HEART will now pick the colors to paint with. The moment I did this, was the moment I...

iPhone 5 or iDol? Where Does Your Heart Lie?

iPhone 5 or iDol? Where Does Your Heart Lie?

The cell phone is a tool to communicate, not an idol. The mass hysteria over a tin can offers us a deep insight into where the heart of many lies. If you were obsessed over the new refrigerator that came out, I am sure you would look at your own heart and wonder why you are going crazy over a big cold plastic cabinet? Why do you think the universe is rebooting this winter solstice? Humanity has shifted priorities to loving all that will not follow us out of this life. We are the farthest away from our deep connection than ever. I ask you to evaluate your heart, where do you want to put your energy? A tin can that isn’t even available? What about spending that...

ROAR!ing for Women’s Values

ROAR!ing for Women’s Values

It was when women’s value shifted from that of leader, policy maker to recessive caregiver and hand holder that the world began devolving… Valuing women’s ability to nurture is fine. They can. Devaluing their insight, wisdom, voice in speaking for what would bring Good is NOT….  THIS is my ROAR!  This word cloud egg was created by the Women’s Grassroots Congress.  It represents the Values we as Women hold true and dear to our hearts.  Two days of intense conversation, decision making, and voting during the Women’s Grassroots Congress, we were able to come to a consensus of these values. We called ourselves the Founding Mothers  Our...

My Fire ROAR!

When fire runs across the mountain, it follows the path of wind and easy fuel. It is doing that now. We need to focus on how we provide fuel for the fire and let it clear our hearts from old debris and burn new pathways for light and life to regrow. As it does on the mountain. Fellene Gaylord

I ROAR!ed in a Workshop

I ROAR!ed in a Workshop

Nearly a year ago, I had the opportunity to share the sacred space of Cinda Stevens Lonsway’s ROAR! with a group of women. The experience allowed me to shed some of that inner pain that we all carry deep down inside. It left my body with a ROAR!ing expletive that felt so good, it brought tears to my eyes. It didn’t stop there, though. After leaving the group, I found that I was more open to exploring those dark places that we hide from everyone, including ourselves, and shedding light on them, sometimes with a ROAR! Simone Nealle

I ROAR! in Amman, Jordan

I ROAR! in Amman, Jordan

Thank you Cinda, Your words are super powerful ’cause they get into my ear, they touched the deep my heart where (at some point) we are all connected, where we can feel our stillness. The sensation that I’ve received from your ROAR!ing is becoming stronger every day, and the whispering is being real, no way to stop it! Just like sea, we are coherent like water and we will NEVER stop waving even when we are heard..! I’ve been ROAR!ing since a year, when a wise woman, away thousands of miles, whispered to me “ROAR!” Among that time, I was reading many self development books, so I decided to change myself then I start ROAR!ing to my...

I’m Eleven and I ROAR!

ROAR! is really inspiring. I remember a time when I was probably 9, in Idaho Falls (at least i think it was Idaho Falls) for my brother’s baseball tournament, and in between games we were walking by the river. I was holding my mom’s hand, and I saw some oily stuff in the river and some trash on the sides and I got mad so I squeezed her hand, then she told me all about ROAR!, and I was in awe of all of it. I have watched the “Voices” Nike http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1ighxU1vYw commercial at least 5 times. It’s so true that all of the things you wrote about have been over looked for too long. I love the fact that it started out as an amazing article, and now the...

A Wild Sister ROAR!s

A Wild Sister ROAR!s

The fist time I read ROAR! I was overcome with such powerful emotions. I felt empowered, I felt connected, and I felt so relieved that finally someone had been able to express feminine divinity and our potential as women so eloquently, so clearly. r I was immediately inspired to share my ROAR! and it resulted in one my most powerful and most acclaimed piece of writing yet. I have no doubt that reading ROAR! was one of the turning points in my life that eventually lead to the creation of Wild Sister Magazine. From Listening to ROAR!ing

From Listening to ROAR!ing

One of the most precious gifts I have ever received was the privilege and thrill of helping Cinda a tiny bit with editing the ROAR!  Although the words are from her, the message is through her. As we worked, I felt the ROAR! of my own spirit awakening, and becoming bolder.  I am continuing to transition from being in the “listen” mode to the “ROAR!” mode.  I may be 73 years old, but I still find that among the deepest pleasures of life are learning and growing. Yes, ROAR! changed my life. I roar for children and for their right to understand and speak. I roar for women and their right to demand justice and equality. I roar for Mother Nature, and against the insulting...

Authenticity in Relationships

Authenticity in Relationships

I seem to be surrounded by and holding space for many women who are learning to be authentic in relationships that are no longer of their Highest and most Divine.  Mothers, empty nesters and women who are answering a calling from their soul to move into a higher purpose of teaching, community, and an authentic empowered life that no longer includes a male partner, and sometimes, a family. I am blessed to bear witness to their growth and courage to listen to the Wise Women inside and answer the calling of their soul to let go, and find the truth within.  This journey is not with out its trade offs, and it often not understood by others.  I am familiar with this journey...

Natalie’s ROAR!

Natalie’s ROAR!

ROAR! first came into my life a few years ago and I enjoyed it at the time but I was too caught up in external forces to fully manifest it.  I was led to read ROAR! again recently and this time I was ready, open and on board.  I am at such an amazing point of change and awakening in my life.  I feel ready to stand up and take charge, to go after what I want, and to trust the universe to guide me forward. I am more independent than I have ever been and consequently more social and open to the beautiful people around me.  I can love without losing myself.  I can trust and know I will always be fine because I am at the center of my world.  I can roar and be drawn...

No Longer Puzzled by the Lion’s Roar

No Longer Puzzled by the Lion’s Roar

It was spring of 1997 on the beautiful Orcas Island of Washington state that I first heard the voice of Mother Earth. Depleted from a 2 year journey of 24-7 care to assist the recovery of my youngest daughter from a head on collision,  I so needed to be held by nature to rest. Sitting on a grassy knoll overlooking the water, I heard Mother’s voice, warm, gentle, and oh so powerful. “I greet you, my little one. We are here for you. I am calling my daughters. I sit within a circle of women, the Golden Dragons who have held truth for women. We are ready to run with the wolves and roar like the lions.  You are magnificent, you are needed.” I understood the “run with wolves...

From Intuition – to Whisper – to Conversation – to ROAR!… to Change

From Intuition – to Whisper – to Conversation – to ROAR!… to Change

Does the concept of change mean different things to women than to men? We all experience it, even when it seems like nothing is really happening or when things are happening too fast or even not fast enough. In the moment of being, change is happening. Change is being and being is change. The thing that punctuates this meaning happens to be sound: the sound of a collective ROAR! on the part of humanity. Cinda Stevens Lonsway got punctuated with this knowledge via her intuition one quiet night. She woke, turned on a lamp and started writing about it—in whispers. The essay became a conversation. The conversations rose to the level of a collective ROAR!  And the ROAR! is...

Life Observations by Andy Palmer

Life Observations by Andy Palmer

I would like to share with you the wise and wonderful “Life Observations” letter written to me from my beloved Cousin Andy Palmer.  She captures in such a simple way, the differences of women and men not only physically, but also within our own being – and yet how beautifully we can coexist. Dear Cinda, May I add another of my Life Observations (I should write a book with that title!), which is that this womanliness (that you’re seeing in me, and that we all share) is something that always needs an outlet.  For the male world in which I’ve worked, it is either a tool that can be utilized (and as such, is sometimes challenged by one’s...
